I guess they don't teach ethics in journalism anymore! With the false, no, mis-informed, no, ignorant (yeah, that's the word) journalistic efforts leading up to the firing of Mike Shula by the Huntsville Times and Kevin Scarbinsky with the Birmingham News, it is crystal clear to me that the press today do not check their sources prior to going to the press room. Trying to "Ready, Fire, Aim" with such matters is not only dangerous but irresponsible. I am glad that we have level headed reporters in Tuscaloosa - ie. Cecil Hurt.
The previous post was just emphatically denied by the head coach at West Virginia, Rich Rodriguez (click here to go to the page). You have to click to the audio file - He is Hot!!!
I am starting to believe that the local's are trying to vam-booz-led (techinal term) their own coach to try to keep him at their Alma mater. By misrepresenting this coach, he had no choice but to immediately deny any contact for the sake of his players (prior to playing Rutgers tomorrow), his employer, and his recruits. In his call to this sports talk radio show he had to say, “I plan on being at West Virginia the rest of my career.” While he didn't say; "YES, I will be back at WVU" he did leave the fan-base, players, recruits, and administration with the feeling that he will in fact be back. A real man with character would now have a hard time to leave WVU. Bama fan's remember Dennis Franchione . Would you want a coach who has now mislead his employer, teams, and fans? This is the situation now for Rich Rodriguez, if he is offered a job at the Capstone, thanks to the Press.

The absolute truth. In my opinion, his denial was WAY more convincing than Spurrier's.
